HSE announces free prescription and emergency contraception for 17 to 35 year old women The free contraception service will cover the full cost of prescription contraception, including the cost of:
GP or doctor’s appointments - to talk about contraception options and for repeat prescriptions when needed
Any prescriptions given by your doctor - these will be given free of charge at participating pharmacies
Your choice of contraception - from a wide range of short-term and long-term contraceptives such as the patch, pill, ring, implant, injection and IUDs
Fittings and removals of implants and IUDs or IUSs (coils)
Any check-ups or other follow up care needed, relating to your implant or coil
Emergency contraception (morning after pill).
To access the service you will need to give a participating GP your PPS number, your date of birth, name and address. Emergency contraception can be provided by participating pharmacies directly, without the need for a GP visit. You will need to give a participating pharmacy your PPS number, date of birth, name and address.
ALL TEST RESULTS – PATIENT INFORMATION
We want to keep you safe and informed about your test results. Please read the following carefully:
CHECKING YOUR RESULTS:
· It is YOUR responsibility to contact the practice for your results.
· Please allow 7/10 days after your test before calling.
· DO NOT assume results are normal if you have not heard from us.
HOW ARE RESULTS GIVEN:
· All results are reviewed by a GP.
· Nursing staff may confirm if results are normal
· If your GP needs to discuss results, or if further tests are required, you will be asked to book a review appointment.
CHARGES:
· If you need to see the GP to discuss results or for further investigation, a consultation charge will apply (unless covered by GMS scheme).
· There is NO CHARGE for being told results are normal and require no further action. (NURSE PHONE CALLS ONLY)
URGENT or ABNORMAL RESULTS
· If your results require urgent attention, we will contact you directly.
· Please make sure we have your correct phone number.
CONFIDENTIALITY
· Results will only be given to you, unless you have provided written consent for someone else to receive them.
· For your safety, results are not left on voicemail or given without proper identification.
